Sports Day
Sports Day was a great success. The Kangs (682) won the inter-patrol competition, narrowly ahead of the Hippos (671), followed by the Rhinos (625) and the Eles (595). Georgie O’Brien broke the school record in the U12 girls’ javelin and a pleasing number of boys and girls qualified for the forthcoming County championships. Ivo Kleinwort was awarded Victor Ludorum and Lily Innes took the gold medal as the best 1s’ girl.
Alongside the track and field events, we were entertained by the 1s' stalls, the Edenbridge Brass Band and by Menek, the ice cream man. Picnics were enjoyed under blue sky and we couldn't have been luckier with the weather - an oasis of sunshine and a light breeze midst the filthy weather that has been the hallmark of this 'summer' term. Mr Charlie Bush, Headmaster of Oundle, was our guest speaker and Mary, his wife, kindly gave out the prizes. A great day.
