4s Play - 'Summer Adventure'
Thursday 14 February

On a particularly chilly Valentine's evening, we were all warmed by a full theatre and the World Exclusive of David Gibbon's 'Summer Adventure'. What happens when a young boy and girl go down to the beach to play and the boys hurts his toe? They meet two scientists hunting for a time-travelling whirlpool and the fun begins.

First they'll have to face Aimee de Havas' fearsome pirates and their ingenious parrot. Next it's the savage natives with Mark Whitehouse and his spear-shaking tribe. Then it's off to Egypt with mummies, hieroglyphics and ritual sacrifice. All works out fine and in 45 minutes, the savages learn to surf, the mummy finds a friend and the scientists end up on the cover of 'Time' magazine.

Well done to the 4s on a thoroughly entertaining play.   ART
