On
Saturday, the whole school congregated in the theatre for a patrol game
of Call My Bluff. We split up into our separate patrols and went into
our corners of the theatre. The presenters - which were Mr Mason, Mr
Stanton and Mr Gilsenan - were cheered in to the theatre. The patrols
were then given five sheets each with their year group’s number on it.
The game
begun. The presenters said what they had to and we put the sheets into
the box that the rest of the year had voted for. We each took it in
turns to have the honour of carrying the sheet down to the foot of the
stage where the great presenters towered over us. This process went on
many times until the game had finished and the scores were completed.
The Rhinos - even after having two points deducted off their score for
cheating - won, the mighty Hippos came second, the Eles came third and
the Kangs came last. Altogether, it was a very enjoyable evening, and
I'd like to thank all of the teachers who helped to put it together.

On Saturday
19th at Ashdown House School each patrol (The
Eles, Rhinos,
Kangs,
and the
Hippos)
participated in “Call My Bluff.” We all sat in our separate patrols, and
years in the theatre, and clapped when the contestants, Mr. Gilsenan,
Mr. Mason, and last but not least Mr. Stanton. Then there was Mr.
Taylor, the compare.
The
object of the game was to guess which teacher was telling the truth, or
bluffing about their definition for the unusual words, being presented
on a slideshow by Mr. I.C.T (Mr. de Moraville)
Everyone
was rushing around the place and trying to think which teacher wasn’t
bluffing. Once we had settled down into our seats the compare i.e. Mr.
Taylor told the contestants to reveal whether they were bluffing or
telling the truth.
Most of
the patrol years got the correct answer so loads of people were jumping
out of their seats with joy.
After
about 10 rounds the game had finished.
Finally
it was time for the final results, everyone wrecking with
nervousness……….. The
Rhinos
had won!
We all
had an excellent time, and look forward to doing it next year!
