Lent Term 2008

Inter-Patrol Cross Country
Sunday 13 January 2008

The first Sunday of term saw all the children in the school braving cold weather (but no rain!) to sport their patrol colours and run the traditional half-figure of eight course. Last year's time of thirteen and a half minutes was beaten by about a minute by William Taylor of the Hippos - a worthy winner and pushed all the way by Robin Eliot of the Kangs, last year's winner. Well done to William Chadd of the 3s who finished in third place in his first year in the school, followed by his classmate Tristan Kleinwort. The best improvement on last year's time was from Hugh Miller, also of the 3s, who was one minute and forty seconds faster than last year. Charlie Hendry beat his position from last year by over 60 places.

The first girl to finish was Heloise Kleinwort in 8th place with Lucy Grubb in 17th. The first 4 was Mattie Carr in 31st and the first 5s, Gus Turner in 38th and Oliver Clark-Hattingh in 39th.

Every child to finish scored points for their patrol and the overall patrol competition was won by the Rhinos and Tristan Kleinwort collected the cup the next day in prayers as the first Rhino to finish.

The best runners will be put forward for next week's Sussex league race at Plumpton racecourse.  ART
