Lent Term 2008

1s' visit to the Tower of London &
the National Portrait Gallery

Thursday 17 January 2008

First we went to the Tower of London and saw Traitors Gate, the White Tower and the Armouries. Then we saw the Crown Jewels. They were displayed in huge, long glass case with conveyor belts around it which you stand on to watch. there was a sceptre with a potato sized diamond, the Imperial State crown which had every jewel under the sun set on it! And loads of rings and other crowns, the Sovereign Orb as well.

After the Tower of London, we had lunch and went to the National Portrait Gallery where we toured th exhibition on Pop Art. It was really cool, my favourite one was a portrait of Elvis Presley firing a gun, but there were two of him side by side. It was by Andy Warhol.

I think all the 1s really enjoyed the trip and I definitely had a great time!
