A heady mix
of physical, cerebral, social, emotional and spiritual it was - roughly
in that order....
The 2s'
weekend started off with everyone meeting in the East Wing Hall where,
charged with a bevy or two, we were ready to attack the dance floor. On
went the CD, up went the volume and....enter Mrs Millar who, with her
usual mix of authority and tolerance, talked us through the steps of the
Military Two-Step, the Canadian Barn Dance, Strip the Willow, St
Bernard's Waltz and the Dashing White Sergeant. After an hour of
reeling we were ready to restock on calories and made our way to the
Dining Hall where Eifion and his team had laid on a delicious buffet. |

Then to the
marquee on the Beech House lawn to enjoy a Pimms or two before taking
our seats for the entertainment laid on by the 2s. Keyboard, harp,
glochenschpiel, cello, flute, trombone and oboe all had an airing along
with some lovely singing - the giggling chaps singing 'The Gas Man
Calleth' epitomised the informality and fun of the evening. Another
yummy supper and good company before the 2s were on their way to bed
ahead of their busy Sunday. |
