Summer Term 2008

3s Visit Dale Fort
2 June

On the second of June the 3s, several 1s and 5 teachers set out at almost the crack of dawn.

We had some breakfast at Ashdown, but not much in case anyone felt sick in the coach.  As Will Taylor was during the first hour .The coach journey was long but was split into 3 sections as the coach driver and the pupils needed breaks…

The first section was roughly 2 and a half hours then a stop for some more food and fresh. Then another drive for 2 hours before our next break and finally an 1 and a half hours until we arrived at the beach in the town of Dale, which is just below  Dale Fort which is in Pembrokeshire in South West Wales, for our lunch.

All the pupils then walked up the hill to the Fort…… But some of the teachers drove minibuses.

On arrival at the fort we were greeted by the director who gave us a short talk on the fort.

We were shown to our rooms and had a little while to unpack.

In the afternoon we where split into 2 groups and did 3different exercises one to do with sounds on the beach and the other was information about the weather and finally picture orienteering around the Fort.  That evening after supper we went out to set up mammal traps in the hope that we would catch some small animals.

We went back to our dorms, brushed out teeth and got into bed.
