Notes
-
All fees are payable on or
before the first day of the term for which they are due. Interest on
outstanding payments will be charged at 2% per month or part thereof.
-
A full term’s notice in writing
must be given to the Headmaster if a child is to be withdrawn from the
School. A full term's fees in lieu of such notice will otherwise be
charged.
-
Fees are reviewed annually with
the decision on the following year’s fees usually made at the Lent term
Governors’ Meeting held in late March.
-
In case of absence for all or
part of a term the full fee is payable. There is an optional scheme of
insurance through the School, which ensures the refund of the appropriate
portion of the fee for any absence due to illness for more than a week. The
charge for this insurance is 1% of the current term’s fee.
-
Emergency medical expenses such
as specialists’ fees, hospital charges, when not covered by the National
Health Service, will be added to the next term’s bill. Many parents choose
to make use of School’s BUPA plan which is an optional extra. The current
charge per term is £60.
-
In addition to the above,
parents will be charged for any external examinations, whether academic or
musical, and purchases made on the child’s behalf. School trips or outings
are also charged, although the School contributes towards the costs for
some, but not all, trips. Parents will be advised in advance of the costs
of those trips involving nights away from the School.
Some Methods of Paying the Fees
-
Payment by bank transfer is
preferred and the School's bank details are on the invoices sent out to
parents or available from the Bursar. Cheques should be made payable to
"Ashdown House School Trust Ltd".
-
The School operates a scheme,
known as Composition Fees, whereby parents can make an advance lump sum
payment towards the cost of the School fees. In return for this lump sum
payment, the School applies a credit against each term’s fee invoice for a
set number of terms. The value of these credits will be discounted at a
percentage rate set by the Governors. The rate of discount will change from
time to time, but will be fixed for the duration of each lump sum payment.
Full details of this scheme may be had from the Bursar.
-
School Fees Funding Plan. A
leaflet giving details of an accredited scheme is available from the Bursar.
