We are incredibly fortunate to enjoy home cooked quality food at Ashdown. Eifion Davies, the head chef and his team prepare our meals on site and take the utmost care to ensure our food is tasty and reaches the highest possible standards. We offer a great variety in our menus and cater for all dietary requirements.
Eifion takes great pride in sourcing the vast majority of our meat from local farms. Our beef, pork and free range chickens come from the Ashdown Forest area and our vegetables and fruit are also carefully sourced.Our much celebrated match teas are all made here and all the cakes we offer are baked by Clare Davies, an experienced patisserie chef.
Our winter menus include warm hearty meals and soups and hot chocolate for snack times. The warmer weather in the summer brings the barbeque season and we enjoy barbeque lunches every Wednesday and Saturday. All year round we have a roast lunch on Sunday and cooked breakfasts.
We hold food committee meetings on a regular basis with representatives from all our year groups and Eifion listens to comments and discusses new menus with the committee. The usual comments are “We love the food!”
Menus
