Towner Gallery Visit

The children exhibited their art at the TownerGallery in Eastbourne

A group of 14 committed Ashdown artists, from the 1s, 2s and 3s, visited the Towner Gallery in Eastbourne this week. They were able to see their piece ‘A Prayer for the Migrants’ exhibited in a big gallery setting and examine the work of children from other schools, also on display in the ‘Draw Me In Exhibition’. The piece was very well received and the quality of work throughout the exhibition was excellent. If you would like to visit, the show runs until 2nd June. Having viewed this show, the children then saw the work of professional artists, recording their observations and feelings about the pieces through written questionnaires and sketching.

The piece created by our pupils will also be shown during Lewes Artwave, 17th August – 1st September, at St John Sub Castro Church in Lewes and Suzie Hennegrave will be running art workshops for children so please get involved if you can.
