Parents will think long and hard in order to make the right choice of senior school. At Ashdown House, we understand the complexity of this decision and we see it as an important part of our role to offer the best advice and support to guide parents in selecting the school, making the applications and preparing for the schedule of tests throughout the process.
Ashdown House feeds over thirty destination schools. Whilst the majority of pupils will sit Common Entrance at 13+ or academic scholarships in the summer term of Year 8, the procedure and demands set by individual senior schools have developed significantly in recent years. We are delighted to prepare the children through the extended campaign for effective senior school entry.
All pupils in Year 4, 5 and 6 have timetabled lessons in reasoning and thinking skills. Ahead of a pretest or assessment day, candidates are offered additional preparation sessions 1:1 or in small groups, as well as formal interview practice.
